Shade is one of 2 puppies from the very first NorthLink litter, whelped August 22nd, 2011 here at our home in London, Ontario. Right from the start, Shade has proven herself to be driven and focused in the field. She has great speed & range in the field and gorgeous, intense style on point.
Shade ran her Natural Ability test in May 2012, impressing the judges (and us!) with her gusto and cooperation. Shade had 4’s across the board (except in tracking as she had a tough bird and ended up doing more hunting than tracking) and scored an excellent 108 Prize II at 8 months of age.
In December 2013, Shade placed 2nd in the WCA National Field Futurity, handled by Greg Dixon.
In 2014, Shade was bred to FC Waybac's Rascal NRD and had one big girl, Scout. Shade was bred to Timberdoodle Low Gun RDX NAVHDA NA I (112), UT I (202), in 2016 and all puppies have been placed. Shade's third and final litter was with NorthLink MGD Trax Sam I Am. All pups were placed and we retained co-ownership of our pick male, Brier. Shade is now retired!
*Update: We brought Shade out of retirement for a little fun at the North Michigan Weimaraner Club Ratings Test. She received her Shooting Dog title at 7 years old and had a blast doing it!
Shade's newest pastime has been as Professional Pheasant Guide Dog at Autumn Olive Game Preserve in Dutton, ON.
