Brier was loved and cared for by Darcie Godwin and co-owned with NorthLink. He ran his NAVHDA Natural Ability test, handled by Darcie, in September 2017 and earned himself a Prize I 107! He also earned his Novice Shooting Dog title with the WCA, handled by April. In the spring of 2018, he finished 2 of 3 FDJ legs with amazing scores - 94 and 98, with both legs completed on the same day (Update: Darcie handled him to his 3rd leg in May 2019 with a score of 98!). Brier spent summer 2018 at bird camp in North Dakota with Nikolaus Scharpf. In the fall of 2018, Nikolaus handled him to multiple Derby placements, including a 4th in the National Field Futurity in Ardmore, OK. Brier also made the WCA Top 10 Derby list. A severe bacterial infection saw him sidelined in 2019, but he bounced back and continued his training. In August 2022, Brier became acutely ill and unfortunately treatment was not successful and we had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy.

Brier had a wonderful, easy-going temperament. He was goofy boy, but in the field, he had a really smart ground application, a ton of point and killer style. Field work is absolutely where he shined. His loss was a blow for us and for Darcie. He will be missed!
